It's Saturday, May 5th

I can't believe that we're leaving for D'Iberville this coming Friday. I'm trying to post my first blog with the help of Mitch Wittenberg who went to Mississippi back in February. He made it seem so easy. I hope I am up for the task.

A couple of weeks ago the team went to Lowe's for a tiling class. It was interesting to me, but for many it was old hat. My son, Alec, who is 12 and went to D'Iberville back in February kept telling me to just ask him the questions as he knew the answers to my queries from his tiling experience in Mississippi.

The team also helped Marge, an older friend of Wes'. Her roof was repaired and so was a big hole in the side of her house. Here she is with Abby Spence.

Just last weekend, we had a barbecue at the Spence's home. It was fun and delicious. Wes made his famous banana bread and spinach salad, Ed had yummy marinated ribs, and Rose made a delicious salmon. Can't forget to mention Joanne's cheesecake! There were other delicious things, but it was a whole week ago, so you can't expect me to remember everything.

Here's Ed with Wes' banana bread!

The high today in D'Iberville was 84 and right now it's 70. Pack shorts!

I have had various people ask me whether I'm excited about going. To be honest, my reason for going at this point is to support Alec who really felt called to go back immediately upon his return from the last trip. My head knows that I am going to be so blessed for going, that I will receive wonderful gifts, but my life here is so consuming that my focus is on it and not the trip. My dear friend, Shannon, is praying that I will have that fun feeling of anticipation.

Well, it looks like I am going to close this post without a photo as I can't seem to receive my email from Imageshack with my registration information, even though I looked in my junk mail folder and everything. Good thing I will be seeing Mitch tomorrow at church. He can fix anything!

May God use this trip to build his kingdom - in Mississippi, and in this team.
Love the blog, Ming Ming.
